2. Tatkal Ticket Booking Gets a Makeover

The Tatkal booking timings will be split based on the class of travel. For AC classes and premium coaches, bookings will start at 10 AM. Sleeper class Tatkal bookings will open at 11 AM, and second seating will open at 11:30 AM. Also, a limit has been set where a single user ID can book only two Tatkal tickets per day. Plus, only thirty percent of seats will be available under Tatkal quota per train.

If you cancel between twenty-four to forty-eight hours before the departure, you will only get a fifty percent refund. Cancel less than twenty-four hours before departure, and unfortunately, you will not get any refund at all.

For waitlisted tickets that remain unconfirmed until chart preparation, a full refund will still be given. These clearer rules make it easier to manage your plans without worrying about last-minute surprises with refunds.
